Per unit. Class 1. Traditionally and ethically farmed in Spain, blood orange is a variety of orange with crimson, almost blood-coloured flesh. The distinctive dark flesh colour is due to anthocyanins, a family of polyphenol pigments common to many flowers and fruit but uncommon in citrus fruits. Blood oranges are an exciting fruit variety with dark red flesh than regular oranges. They taste less acidic, slightly sweeter, and have hints of raspberry or strawberry.
